In the Living Room with Zizi - Cultural Project – ProAC ICMS

A cultural project supported by ProAC ICMS, Na Sala com Zizi (In the Living Room with Zizi) was conceived as a musical biography of Brazilian singer Zizi Possi.

The stage was transformed into a warm and welcoming living room, creating an atmosphere of intimacy and spontaneity. Through stories, music and piano performances, Zizi revisited her journey — from a talented young girl to the accomplished artist audiences know today — bringing her story to life through music and humour.

The show Na Sala com Zizi was conceived following three sold-out performances at Sesc Pompeia, where audiences gave standing ovations and called for more. Building on this success, and after more than 30 years of career, Zizi Possi revisited the milestones of her artistic journey through this innovative project, whose central purpose was to bring audiences closer to her personal and musical history.

Featuring a unique and previously unreleased repertoire, Zizi wove together memories and songs, bringing to the stage music that marked her childhood and adolescence in São Paulo, including Datemi un martello by Rita Pavone and Dio, come ti amo by Domenico Modugno.

She also revisited her move to Salvador, the first jingles she recorded before launching her career as a professional singer, and defining moments of her youth, including her discovery of The Beatles, Novos Baianos, Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, among many others.

When we think of Zizi Possi, or hear her sing, it becomes clear that she is an artist who is fundamentally musical. Her pitch has always been impeccable and precise. As an interpreter, she is known for her refined taste, consistently avoiding excess and virtuosic display for its own sake.

Her remarkable ability to breathe new life into familiar lyrics reveals universal dimensions that other interpretations may never have imagined. This can be heard in her recordings of Meu Erro, by Brazilian rock band Os Paralamas do Sucesso, and O Que É, O Que É?, by Gonzaguinha.

All these elements come together to shape the identity and artistic persona of an artist who, whenever she interprets a song, leaves her own unmistakable signature — as though she were its author.
