In Música de Baterista (Drummer’s Music), Cleber Almeida presents a selection of his original compositions and arrangements, specially created for a seven-piece ensemble.
The music draws inspiration from experiences and collaborations with Trio Curupira, Arismar do Espírito Santo, Trio Macaíba, Banda Mantiqueira, Lea Freire, Hermeto Pascoal, Bola Sete, Hamilton de Holanda, Zé Menezes, and many others.
Amid original melodies and arrangements, the project brings together captivating interpretations and moments of collective improvisation. Cleber is joined by an exceptional ensemble featuring Fábio Leal on guitar, Alan Palma on trombone, Felipe Brisola on bass, Beto Correia on piano, Diego Garbin on trumpet, and Cesar Roverssi on saxophone.
Música de Baterista was selected for ProAC Editais, São Paulo’s public cultural funding programme.
The project included the production of a vinyl record and a launch concert, bringing the music from the studio to the stage in a celebration of Brazilian instrumental music.
